Directions Updated.

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Today we updated our directons page. In our continued effort to make our site easier and more user-friendly we felt this was necessary. Our new updated page now contains a Google Map that will show our exact location.

We also highly recommend reading the directions we have written as they may provide an easier route to our shop than the Google directions.

s100, NepTune, and Comparison Reviews are up!

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Its Monday, and after an extremely busy day on the phone at the office and working on the site I have finally managed to get the s100 and NepTune reviews on our site. This is a continuation of the process of the reviews which are all hopefully going to be on the site in the next few weeks. You can find these reviews during step 3 of our etTuning section.

Here are some shorts from the over all impressions.

s100:

“The Hondata s100 is the cheapest option for tuning your car with the Hondata product line-up (B/D/H series engines). It is not end-user adjustable, and authorized Hondata dealers/tuners are the only…”

NepTune:

“Evans Tuning has been tuning NepTune longer than any other dealer/tuner. We have successfully tuned over 200+ cars with the software…”

Be sure to check out the Hondata, and NepTune pages for the newly added review section on the comparisons between s300 and NepTune. These are the first 2 comparisons with more coming in the future such as the difference between KPro and AEM for K-series setups. Give me your feedback!

KPro and AEM Reviews are up.

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Early on yesterday I posted up the new etTuning section and promised reviews would continue to come adding to the one that was already up for the Hondata s300 system. Since we have posted 2 more reviews which list Pro’s, Con’s, and our Overall Impression of the system.

The first being for Hondata KPro. A small excerpt:

“…It is hands down the best tuning solution for any K-series street car, as well as most race cars! The software is comprehensive, straight forward, and easy to use…”

The second being for AEM EMS. A small excerpt:

“…The system got a bad rap at first from having a lot “bugs” in the older versions of the software, but has done a complete 180-degree turn in quality and reliability. AEM EMS is Evans Tuning’s top pick for standalone engine management systems…”

I hope you get a chance to check out the new reviews and I hope they help in making your decision when thinking about which engine management system is right for you. Let me know your thoughts.

The New etTuning Section is live!

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Well, if you haven’t checked it out yet the new Tuning Section is now live. The revision serves multiple purposes which I will just quickly go over.

  1. The first goal is to help guide our customers through the process that we use to assume they were taking before contacting us for a tuning appointment. This takes out the guesswork by pointing directly the information that you need to know for an appointment.
  2. The second goal is to help you accurately and quickly gather information without having to wait for an email response or wait for a callback due to high call volume at the office.
  3. The third goal we accomplish with this revision is to help us prevent some of the huge volume of calls we receive everyday with questions about this content.
  4. The fourth goal is to provide reviews on the engine management systems we tune. An example of this can be found currently when looking at Hondata in Step 3 under s300. (This feature is still being implemented.)

If you haven’t gone through our simple 4-step process I suggest checking it out before your next tuning appointment as it contains quite a bit of priceless information that does not get discussed when setting up an appointment. Let me know what you think.

Revised Pre-Tuning Checklist Coming Soon

Monday, September 29th, 2008

If you have been to a our Pre-Tuning Checklist, you know that its a pretty hefty list of things to check over. In our effort to clean up the site and make it easier to schedule a tuning appointment, we have noticed that the tuning checklist(s) are somewhat difficult to get through in one session. So in the coming week I will be starting a clean-up of the Evans Tuning Pre-Tuning Checklist.

It should be noted that everything on the list not only needs to be checked but it is all actually very important. This is the main reason for cleaning it up. Seeing as how going over the checklist is one of the biggest steps to ensuring a successful tuning appointment, it should be a relatively painless process.

Jeff, Andrea, and I have been critiquing every portion of the site trying to get it down to the bare essentials where needed and add the critical information where its missing. If you have seen something lately that just doesn’t sit right, please leave a comment and let us know. Otherwise, I will keep you posted on the updates as I start rolling them out in a few days (if all goes well).

What’s with the new forum ads?

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Here’s the deal, because I am sure by now you have seen some of the ads on the forum like this one for the blog.

Our stats show that most of our visitors use our forums more than anything else. So we have decided rather than continuing to update you all with the front page of our site (though that effort continues for individuals who do not use our forums of course), we are going to bring critical updates straight to you on the forum.

These ads will become forum specific as time goes on. For example, if you are browsing the S2K forum expect information regarding sales, and other information that is S2K related.

I have already received inquiries to advertise on our forum earlier today, and unfortunately we are only using these adspaces as informational only regarding specials, and events at Evans Tuning.

Hopefully you all find these info ads helpful and they help direct your attention to things that you may be interested in but didn’t realize were offered or happening around here.
