Injector Dynamics 1600cc Injectors Now Available!
Feb 25th
Following the incredible injector line up from Injector Dynamics the new ID 1600cc/min is nothing short of amazing! The ID 1000cc’s changed the injector market hands down. Response, control and repeatability are the key factors that make the ID 1000cc’s work so well in comparison to other brands on the market. The ID 1600cc’s follow suit!
Typically anything in the 1000cc/min range are tolerable for a street car in other brands such as Precision and RC. While the car is not nearly as smooth as with the ID’s, they are functional and can usually idle/cruise in the 13.5~14.0:1 a/f ratio without misfiring. Once you step above the 1000cc/min size range drivability goes down hill quickly.
A “cheap” way to go fast on most drag cars is the old Bosch 1600cc/min peak and hold injectors. They’ll deliver ample fuel for set-ups in the 800-900 whp power range, but have absolutely horrible idle and partial throttle quality. They can literally be a “on/off” switch to tune, creating horrible lean misfiring under 2 millisecond range (where most of the idle and light throttle driving is done).
The ID 1600cc/min injectors changes everything. They will idle, partial throttle drive and run exactly like the ID 1000cc’s. If you have been in a car with the ID 1000cc’s you know how well they run, so imagine that in a 1600cc/min injector! No compromises for big power set-ups that see street use anymore! Another great thing about the ID 1600s is that they use a OBD-1 style injector clip, so if you have a OBD-1 honda or clips currently on your car they are a 100% drop in fitment.
Like the ID 2200 injectors the ID 1600′s are not compatible with MTBE based racing fuel such as Q16 or VP Import, but can be used with any alcohol or pump gas.

NEW Injector Dynamics 2000cc Saturated Injectors.
Aug 19th
It was only a matter of time before Injector Dynamics came out with something larger than the very popular 1000cc injectors. Anyone that has used or tuned a car with the Injector Dynamics injectors can appreciate how well they run, and these new 2000cc injectors are no different! Based on a completely different injector than the ID 725cc and ID 1000cc, the new ID 2000cc injectors are the best solution to those set-ups needing more than what the ID 1000cc can support and are forced to go with 8 (ID 1000cc) to support their power. Running a single set of injectors significantly simplifies the fuel system, and ultimately saves you additional cash.
I think most people are going to say “Why not just run a set of 1600cc/min and be done?”. Well if you have ever tried to use or tune 1600cc injectors they run terrible with anything under 2 millisecond opening time. This ultimately means that idle and light partial throttle is very choppy due to the very unlinear flow from the injectors under 2 millisecond opening time. Below is a 2D graphical chart to display why these ID 2000cc injectors work so well compared to the typical 1600cc on the market:
As the chart illustrates under 2 millisecond range you can visually see how unlinear the 1600cc injectors are operating, and how linear the ID 2000cc are operating. This is the difference of being able to dial in a solid 13-14 a/f ratio under idle and 14-15 a/f partial throttle driving, something that is unheard of with 1600cc’s. Going further with the chart, you can see about 80-85% duty (above 9~9.5 ms range) cycle range that the deviation on the 1600cc’s can be as much as 10-15% richer. This ultimately makes tuning with the injectors at high duty cycle range very difficult and unpredictable. Tony from T1 Race Development was able to put a set of these ID 2000cc injectors into a bone stock Integra LS to illustrate how well these run in the following video:
In addition, the ID2000cc injectors are dynamically flow matched with +/- 1% in sets. They will be linear to each other from low pulsewidth to high pulsewidth range. They are rated at 2255cc/min at 45 psi base pressure, but can flow as much as 3710cc/min at 130 psi base pressure (mechanical fuel pump only). Its safe to say that these will be the last injectors you ever have to purchase for a high power car. A point that I want to make for potential users for these injectors, please do not purchase these because they are hot new item on the market. If you can make the power you need with the ID725cc or ID1000cc, use them! They will run better, and be better suited to street car applications. The new ID 2000cc injectors will be up on our online store shortly.

Injector Dynamics 1000cc Saturated Injectors
Jan 19th
If you have not yet heard, the new Injector Dynamics 1000cc Saturated injectors are probably one of the best things to happen to the aftermarket scene in quite some time. I have tuned over 1000+ cars in the last 9 years being a professional EFI tuner. I have encountered many cars that have just ran poorly due to the specific fuel injectors that they were using, even after tuning. This can be attributed to poor atomization, inconsistency in fuel delivery between injectors and increased dead time using a saturated injector driver to drive a low impedance fuel injector. Most of issues attributed with poor fuel injectors are lean misfiring at idle (usually associated with a “popping” noise from the exhaust), rough partial throttle drivability at low throttle conditions (due to slow response time at low millisecond opening/closing) and hard starting.
