New Services
The Evans Tuning 2011 Yearly Outlook
Jan 10th
Happy New Year! Last year was full of exciting news and updates from Evans Tuning and we certainly have plans to stay on that same exciting path in 2011. Everything from eTuning (our hottest new addition to the tuning services lineup) to our brand new Dyno Database (currently made up of over 670 dynos – it is the world’s largest online dyno graph database) has kept us extremely busy. As one of the most cutting edge tuning shops in the country, we always make improvements and advancements over previous years, and we feel we really have some new and exciting things lined up for this year that will blow you away. Although there are too many things coming throughout the next 12 months to list in detail, we wanted to take a moment to give everyone just a small sampling of what’s to come.
Hybrid EMS
Perhaps our most exciting new development for 2011 will be our new Hybrid EMS! The Hybrid EMS will be able to retain full OBD-2 functionality when tuning with a standalone (more details coming soon). There are endless possibilities to where this can lead; and needless to say, we are very excited. Production will begin with the AP1 S2000 and hopefully branch out shortly to many other makes and models.
Technical Support Updates
For years we have been providing the industry’s best email-based technical support. We respond fast (usually within 24 hours) and effectively to virtually every email we receive (that’s upwards of 15,000 emails in 2010). Because of the burden that email support places on some of our customers, we’ve been working on a better way to help service everyone. We’re creating new internal systems and although we are not ready yet, we will soon be offering limited technical support over the phone.
Dyno Database
If you’ve been following our posts on Facebook and Twitter you have undoubtedly seen all of the updates in the brand new Dyno Database toward the end of 2010. In 2011 we have many more updates planned for the Dyno Database. For starters, we’ll be breaking down more sorting options and adding a video of dyno runs!
Labor Services
Toward the end of 2010 we added 3 new labor services. We are now offering Performance Modifications, Transmission Builds, and Corner Balancing & Alignment services. Although we have been performing these services on a very limited basis for several years, we are now offering them to all. In 2011 we have a few more services we plan to add – details to come.
Web Site Updates
Last year we made huge strides in our web site design and online presence. This year we are starting off with redesigned page layouts and updated information in our Dyno Tuning section, and creating an entirely new set of pages detailing the Hybrid EMS system. Later this year we plan to revisit our home page and make some updates to the more static sections of our web site.
Consultations
Sometimes it’s just easier to bring your car to the shop before you build it. Later this year we’ll start offering personalized recommendations for your setup when you schedule a consultation at our shop.
The Evans Tuning Race Car
Late in 2010 we started building a new shop race car. We’re pretty excited about it and hope to have it done very early this year with dyno numbers and then track times once the tracks open up!
The New Evans Tuning Dyno Database Is Now Available!
Nov 15th
For years we have been posting the dyno graphs from just about every tuning session we’ve had. The reasoning is simple: you deserve it, we are proud of our work, and we feel that a resource for dyno graphs has helped us learn by repetition the setups that do and do not produce desirable results. For years we have added to our collection of graphs and recently found that we have added over 700 dyno graphs and setups to our forums.
Along with many other things, we have been focusing on the simplicity and functionality of our web site and we were forced to re-evaluate our dyno graph section. Needless to say, the unorganized jumble of graphs led us to the conclusion that something needed to be done. After all, the dyno section is the third most popular section of the site after the home page and online store.
The answer wasn’t too difficult. We needed to create a simple and effective solution that would make browsing the graphs easy and painless. We feel we have been able to do just that with the launch of our new Dyno Database, the world’s largest online dyno graph database.
We’ve started with general yet useful categories. As time goes on we’ll be adding more categories to sort with so you can find exactly what you’re looking for. We know you’re going to love the new functionality of the dyno section, but for now we’re going to leave our old dyno library open which you can navigate to through our forums.
That’s all there is to it. So stop reading and start browsing now!
eTuning Section Added To Our Site
Jun 16th
Since we have started eTuning it has become very popular with a lot of our FlashPro and KPro customers. We’ve taken the time to add a new eTuning section to our web site under the current Tuning section (which now is broken down into sections for both Dyno Tuning and eTuning).
We’re excited to have this new section added to our site, and we hope it answers many of the questions we have received so far. The eTuning section will also stay updated as we add more cars that are able to be eTuned. Here are a list of the new pages:

eTuning for FlashPro and KPro now available!

eTuning is slowly catching on as a new trend in the EFI tuning world. We’ve been working hard to implement eTuning that is competitively priced while continuing to offer the advantage of a full Dyno Tuning service that many of our customers still prefer. Our solution, allow customers to upgrade from our eTuning services to a full Dyno Tune without paying the full tuning rate. Currently, eTuners do not offer this option as most of them do not own and operate a dyno on a daily basis. At Evans Tuning, we have our customers covered and are now able to provide our tuning services globally to customers who wish to be tuned by us and are not local to our shop.
The Pricing Breakdown:
- eTune Flat Rate – $200
- eTune with purchase of tuning system – $150
- eTune Retune – $100
- Upgrade from eTune to Dyno Tune – $150/hr
Which systems will Evans Tuning be willing to eTune?
As of the time of this posting we are currently offering eTuning for ONLY Hondata FlashPro and Hondata KPro. FlashPro and KPro are the only systems we will support eTuning on at the moment. The factory wideband sensor, accurate knock sensors and excellent datalogging that both FlashPro and KPro system offer make eTuning possible. Other systems such as Hondata s300, A’PEXi Power FC, AEM EMS, etc. are systems that we prefer to tune in house because of a huge range of car, sensor and wiring conditions.

Evans Tuning now a sponsor on IWSTI.com!
May 22nd
Evans Tuning is excited to announce our step into the AWD market, and our first Subaru forum sponsorship at IWSTI.com! For our new Subaru customers who are not familiar with Evans Tuning we are a premier EFI tuning shop, specializing in anything fuel injected, located in Easton, Pa. Our background has been extensive with Honda/Acura, Nissan, and Toyota EFI tuning. Recently, we have purchased an additional Dynapack Evolution 2000 2WD Dyno, and in combination with our existing Dynapack Evolution 4000 2WD Dyno we are now an AWD capable tuning shop. Effective immediately are we offering both COBB AccessPORT and AEM EMS tuning. We have an extensive background with AEM EMS on virtually all applications that it’s offered for. To kick off our new sponsorship on IWSTI.com we are offering tuning package specials:
COBB Pro AccessPORT and Tuning Special:
- Subaru: $1195 *more than $100 in savings!
AEM EMS and Tuning Package Special:
- Subaru 02-05′ WRX (non-STi): $1775 *more than $475.00 in savings!
- Subaru 04-06′ WRX STi: $1950 *more than $475.00 in savings!
With these package specials we are including a flat rate tune. Its clear to Evans Tuning that most AWD tuning shops charge an hourly rate of $150-$300/hr. While this has become somewhat of a “standard” for tuning in this industry, this is not how Evans Tuning bases their tuning rates. We feel that a flat fee rate is the best approach. Our customers do not feel pressured to have their car “rushed” during the tuning session to save money, and we are able to put as much time as needed into tuning. Typical tuning sessions last 3-4 hours, and we do a combination of dyno AND street tuning to ensure your car runs great in actual real world conditions. We do this to ensure the that you get the most reliable tune, as well as best fuel efficiency and overall a car that runs great. Furthermore, we ONLY schedule 1 new tuning appointment a day, so your car will be the ONLY car we focus on that particular day. After the tuning session we offer additional support through datalogs if problems arise for no additional charge. Our level of customer service and quality of tuning is something that we take pride in offering our customers. When comparing prices to other tuning shops, please keep this mind.
In addition to offering our package specials, we do offer our tuning services if you already own the engine management system. You can view our tuning rates HERE.
We are also excited to bring the Injector Dynamics fuel injectors to the IWSTI.com market. They are hands down THE BEST fuel injectors out there. There is nothing that can compare to them in terms of starting, idle, partial throttle driving, etc. We are now stocking these injectors for Subaru applications.
- You can read more about them HERE.
- Buy a set of Injector Dynamics HERE.
- Find out why they work so well HERE.
If you are interested in having a quote on package specials available for your Subaru from manufacturers such as Full Race, Competition Clutch, Injector Dynamics, HKS, APEX’i, AEM, Garrett, etc. please email sales@evans-tuning.com.
If you have tech questions pertaining to your Subaru about parts, engine management, tuning, etc. please email tech@evans-tuning.com.

Evans Tuning Cylinder Head Packages – Available Now!
Feb 4th
We get numerous emails and phone calls a week about having cylinder head work done. We get questions ranging from who can install valvetrain, to who we recommend for cylinder head porting. I have decided to put some cylinder head packages together that are both economical and offer great performance. We do not offer cylinder head porting, simply because I have made very good power from stock port cylinder heads. We do offer a 5 angle performance valve job that will allow for 80% of the flow potential from the cylinder head. This saves you money from not having the cylinder head ported, and fast turn around time at 2-3 weeks. We are offering quality valvetrain from both Skunk2 Racing and Manley Performance. The stage 1 package is meant for N/A, turbo, supercharger, or nitrous engines running OEM cams or up to Skunk2 Tuner 1 Cams. Maximum RPM is rated at 9,500, and is great for daily driver or street/strip applications. The stage 2 package is meant for N/A, turbo, supercharger, or nitrous engines running up to Skunk2 Pro 3 camshafts. Maximum RPM for this package is rated at 10,500 and is great for drag cars, street/strip cars or N/A cars running very high lift camshafts. You can see pricing and what is available for each stage HERE. If you have any questions concerning the cylinder head packages, please feel free to email tech@evans-tuning.com.
