General Updates

The Evans Tuning 2011 Yearly Outlook

Happy New Year! Last year was full of exciting news and updates from Evans Tuning and we certainly have plans to stay on that same exciting path in 2011. Everything from eTuning (our hottest new addition to the tuning services lineup) to our brand new Dyno Database (currently made up of over 670 dynos – it is the world’s largest online dyno graph database) has kept us extremely busy. As one of the most cutting edge tuning shops in the country, we always make improvements and advancements over previous years, and we feel we really have some new and exciting things lined up for this year that will blow you away. Although there are too many things coming throughout the next 12 months to list in detail, we wanted to take a moment to give everyone just a small sampling of what’s to come.

Hybrid EMS
Perhaps our most exciting new development for 2011 will be our new Hybrid EMS! The Hybrid EMS will be able to retain full OBD-2 functionality when tuning with a standalone (more details coming soon). There are endless possibilities to where this can lead; and needless to say, we are very excited. Production will begin with the AP1 S2000 and hopefully branch out shortly to many other makes and models.

Technical Support Updates
For years we have been providing the industry’s best email-based technical support. We respond fast (usually within 24 hours) and effectively to virtually every email we receive (that’s upwards of 15,000 emails in 2010). Because of the burden that email support places on some of our customers, we’ve been working on a better way to help service everyone. We’re creating new internal systems and although we are not ready yet, we will soon be offering limited technical support over the phone.

Dyno Database
If you’ve been following our posts on Facebook and Twitter you have undoubtedly seen all of the updates in the brand new Dyno Database toward the end of 2010. In 2011 we have many more updates planned for the Dyno Database. For starters, we’ll be breaking down more sorting options and adding a video of dyno runs!

Labor Services
Toward the end of 2010 we added 3 new labor services. We are now offering Performance Modifications, Transmission Builds, and Corner Balancing & Alignment services. Although we have been performing these services on a very limited basis for several years, we are now offering them to all. In 2011 we have a few more services we plan to add – details to come.

Web Site Updates
Last year we made huge strides in our web site design and online presence. This year we are starting off with redesigned page layouts and updated information in our Dyno Tuning section, and creating an entirely new set of pages detailing the Hybrid EMS system. Later this year we plan to revisit our home page and make some updates to the more static sections of our web site.

Consultations
Sometimes it’s just easier to bring your car to the shop before you build it. Later this year we’ll start offering personalized recommendations for your setup when you schedule a consultation at our shop.

The Evans Tuning Race Car
Late in 2010 we started building a new shop race car. We’re pretty excited about it and hope to have it done very early this year with dyno numbers and then track times once the tracks open up!

Follow Us On Facebook And Twitter For Giveaways

I know we posted recently about following us on social sites like Facebook and Twitter. I wanted to reiterate the importance of these sites as the climate on the Internet continues to change.

We are dedicated to our customers and supporting them. Jeff and Andrea read and respond to hundreds of emails every week, and we continually try to update our blog with the biggest news and updates in the industry.

Unfortunately, with the amount of people we staff at Evans Tuning it would be impossible to post every update in a blog post like this one. Fortunately, the Internet changes quite often and continually gets easier and easier to maintain. Facebook and Twitter have made this easy for us. We can post updates regularly (oftentimes, several per day) about the happenings here at Evans Tuning. We really recommend following us at one of these sources.

If you are not following us on either of these sites here are our links:

Follow Us For Regular Updates

It’s been super busy here so we haven’t had much time to put out full updates. As I’m sitting to write this the phone is ringing, orders are coming through, emails are filling the inbox, and the schedule is filling up. Spring is here, and there is no doubt about it, Evans Tuning is full swing into our busiest season of the year. With all of the hectic running around, filling orders, booking appointments, etc. going on – we still find time to update on a semi-regular basis in full fashion here on our blog. However, lately we’ve been able to utilize the convenience of simple updates on sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

If you are not following us on either of these sites here are our links for Evans Tuning:

About a month ago we were able to get Jeff to start a Facebook and Twitter account for himself. Jeff posts more about what is going on at the shop than what is going on with Evans Tuning. You can follow him here:

The rest of our Twitter feeds are located on the about us page of the site.

Evans Tuning 2010 Yearly Update

2010 promises to be a year full of new and exciting developments for Evans Tuning. We feel that we are one of the few tuning shops that are constantly evolving and making adjustments to better suit the needs of our customers. In 2009 we  put a ton of effort into the redesign of our website. The best part is that we have many more revisions coming on that front to make it easier to navigate and more useful.

Here is a quick look at what we have planned for 2010: More >

Evans Tuning is moving!

etmoving

Evans Tuning is finally saying goodbye to our 1,400 square foot shop and moving into our new 10,000 square foot facility on September 1st 2009. Our new shop promises to be a landmark in the automotive tuning industry. Here are some great new features and benefits:

An overview: 1,400 to 10,000 square feet.
With nearly 10,000 square feet of playing room, Evans Tuning will no longer have a space issue. The size of our new location will allow for us to take on more projects/builds/installs, have a waiting/observation room, have a showroom, and house our offices all in one location. We are making moves to better service all of our customers and the new shop is one of the most integral parts in the plan. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.

The waiting/observation room: The shop isn’t always a cool (or warm) place to hang out.
One of the biggest setbacks of our old shop is the waiting area, which is just about anywhere you are standing. At our new shop we have done away with keeping you in the elements while you car is being tuned. Enjoy watching your car from our climate controlled waiting and observation room. We currently have a vending machine set up and plan to provide a few forms of entertainment while you wait (tuning appointments can be a few hours).

The showroom: Something every shop needs.
We are proud to announce the addition of a showroom to our shop. This will provide an opportunity to see the parts we have in stock, purchase them on site or come and pick them up. Evans Tuning is making strides to become a “walk-in friendly” facility, and although Jeff himself may not always be available someone else certainly will.

Projects, builds, and installs: Getting Evans Tuning to wrench on your car.
Although nothing is written in stone as of the date of this post, we are making efforts to standardize some of the services we can provide and start a parallel schedule to go hand in hand with our tuning schedule. In the not so distant future, Evans Tuning will be taking on projects, builds, and installs. Stay tuned for more information on this.

Evans Tuning now tuning with COBB AccessPORT!

Evans Tuning is excited to announce that we are now tuning COBB AccessPORT! COBB AcessPORT Tuning is an aftermarket tuning solution for Subarus, Mitsubishi Evo, Nissan 350z/G35/GT-R and Mazda applications with their AccessPORT tuning device. The AccessPORT works off of “flash” based technology and retains the OEM ecu, similar to Hondata s300 and K-Pro systems for Honda. Its an excellent alternative to high end standalone systems, and offers alot of cool features such as on the on the fly map switching, CEL code checking, datalogging, 1/4 mile and horsepower calculators, etc. The system is very hard to detect by dealerships, so warranty work and emission testing will be a breeze!

Evans Tuning will soon be offering the AccessPORT for sale on our website. Being a “Pro” AccessPORT tuner allows us to create custom tuned flash program for your specific car. The AccessPORT will allow you to upload pre-configured flash programs, but by far to get the most out of your car and combination of parts having a “Pro” flash is the way to go. Evans Tuning is currently offering “Pro” tuning on all 2002+ Subaru and Evolution 8, 9 and 10 applications. In additon to offering the ability for custom flashes for these cars, we are offering discounted tuning rates when the system is purchased through us. You will receive FREE overnight shipping on your AccessPORT unit, and a $75.00 discount on the tuning session.

For those not familar with the Evans Tuning “rates” structure, we offer flat rate tuning fees. Most AWD tuning shops charge an hourly tuning/dyno fee. While this may work for those shops, we feel that we can offer a better tune and overall experience charging a flat rate fee. If you car takes 2 hours, or 5 hours the price is the same. We strive to give you the best possible tune, experience and support that Honda/Acura, Toyota, and Nissan customers have come to expect from Evans Tuning.

Any questions you may have about the AccessPORT system can be sent to tech@evans-tuning.com. If you want to set up a “Pro” AccessPORT tuning session, or purchase an AccessPORT please call our office line at 1.866.975.TUNE Mon-Fri 1-5 pm.
