Evans Tuning now a sponsor on IWSTI.com!

Evans Tuning is excited to announce our step into the AWD market, and our first Subaru forum sponsorship at IWSTI.com! For our new Subaru customers who are not familiar with Evans Tuning we are a premier EFI tuning shop, specializing in anything fuel injected, located in Easton, Pa. Our background has been extensive with Honda/Acura, Nissan, and Toyota EFI tuning. Recently, we have purchased an additional Dynapack Evolution 2000 2WD Dyno, and in combination with our existing Dynapack Evolution 4000 2WD Dyno we are now an AWD capable tuning shop. With these package specials we are including a flat rate tune. Its clear to Evans Tuning that most AWD tuning shops charge an hourly rate of $150-$300/hr. While this has become somewhat of a “standard” for tuning in this industry, this is not how Evans Tuning bases their tuning rates. We feel that a flat fee rate is the best approach. Our customers do not feel pressured to have their car “rushed” during the tuning session to save money, and we are able to put as much time as needed into tuning.  Typical tuning sessions last 3-4 hours, and we do a combination of dyno AND street tuning to ensure your car runs great in actual real world conditions. We do this to ensure the that you get the most reliable tune, as well as best fuel efficiency and overall a car that runs great. Furthermore, we ONLY schedule 1 new tuning appointment a day, so your car will be the ONLY car we focus on that particular day. After the tuning session we offer additional support through datalogs if problems arise for no additional charge. Our level of customer service and quality of tuning is something that we take pride in offering our customers. When comparing prices to other tuning shops, please keep this mind.

We are also excited to bring the Injector Dynamics fuel injectors to the IWSTI.com market. They are hands down THE BEST fuel injectors out there. AWD Dynapack Tuning Now Available!

That’s right! You are not imagining this, we are now offering AWD tuning in house!! After years of customers asking me to tune their AWD cars and not wanting to travel to a AWD dyno, we have finally made the decision to purchase another 2WD Dynapack Dyno to pair with our current 2WD Dynapack to provide AWD tuning. The combination of both dynos in AWD mode will support 1600whp!

Our jump into the AWD market is going to cover the majority of Subaru and Mitsubishi vehicles, as well as the new Evo X and WRX/STI. We are excited to pair up with Cobb Tuning to provide Pro AccessPORT tuning, as well as EcuFlash, AEM EMS, Power FC, and HKS F-CON support for these vehicles. We are also excited to be one of the only AWD Dynapack Dynos in the tri-state area. We have seen the huge demand for AWD tuning, so we anticipate this being a huge step for us.

Evans Tuning now tuning with COBB AccessPORT!

Evans Tuning is excited to announce that we are now tuning COBB AccessPORT! COBB AcessPORT Tuning is an aftermarket tuning solution for Subarus, Mitsubishi Evo, Nissan 350z/G35/GT-R and Mazda applications with their AccessPORT tuning device. The AccessPORT works off of “flash” based technology and retains the OEM ecu, similar to Hondata s300 and K-Pro systems for Honda. Its an excellent alternative to high end standalone systems, and offers alot of cool features such as on the on the fly map switching, CEL code checking, datalogging, 1/4 mile and horsepower calculators, etc. The system is very hard to detect by dealerships, so warranty work and emission testing will be a breeze!

Evans Tuning will soon be offering the AccessPORT for sale on our website. Being a “Pro” AccessPORT tuner allows us to create custom tuned flash program for your specific car. The AccessPORT will allow you to upload pre-configured flash programs, but by far to get the most out of your car and combination of parts having a “Pro” flash is the way to go. Evans Tuning is currently offering “Pro” tuning on all 2002+ Subaru and Evolution 8, 9 and 10 applications.In additon to offering the ability for custom flashes for these cars, we are offering discounted tuning rates when the system is purchased through us. For those not familar with the Evans Tuning “rates” structure, we offer flat rate tuning fees. Most AWD tuning shops charge an hourly tuning/dyno fee. While this may work for those shops, we feel that we can offer a better tune and overall experience charging a flat rate fee. If you car takes 2 hours, or 5 hours the price is the same. We strive to give you the best possible tune, experience and support that Honda/Acura, Toyota, and Nissan customers have come to expect from Evans Tuning.

Exclusive Tuning Dates – Get an appointment on our day off!

Perhaps one of the biggest “complaints” we hear from customers is that it takes FOREVER to get in for a tuning appointment. Anyone who has scheduled an appointment with us knows that for about 9 or 10 months out of the year there is at least a one month wait to get in, and in most instances much longer than that. It is, by far, the biggest issue with our schedule that we have been trying to resolve for quite some time now. How can we possibly get more customers in for tuning appointments when we only have one person tuning? Don’t worry – we aren’t hiring another tuner! So what are we doing?? We are making Jeff come in on his days off!

So here is how this is going to work:
In an attempt to accommodate more customers Jeff is now willing to come into the shop on his days off. These days will vary from one week to the next so interested customers will need to contact us via email: appointments@evans-tuning.com or call our office: 866.975.TUNE for availability. Now here’s the catch. Just as anybody else would expect, when you go into work on your day off you are paid overtime. The same will apply here. Every week there will be at least one week day and a Sunday available. Pricing for these days is listed below.

New Tuning Appointments:

  • Weekday (Pump Gas or Race Gas only tune): Normal Pump Gas Tuning Rate + $500.00 Cash Surcharge
  • Weekday (Pump and Race Gas tune): Normal Pump Gas Tuning Rate + Hourly Race Gas Tune Rate + $500.00 Cash Surcharge
  • Sunday (Pump Gas or Race Gas only tune): Normal Pump Gas Tuning Rate + $1000.00 Surcharge (entire appointment must be paid in cash)
  • Sunday (Pump and Race Gas tune): Normal Pump Gas Tuning Rate + Hourly Race Gas Tune Rate + $1000.00 Surcharge (entire appointment must be paid in cash)

Retune Appointments:

  • Weekday (Pump Gas or Race Gas only tune): Normal Retune Rate + $500.00 cash surcharge
  • Weekday (Pump and Race Gas tune): Normal Retune rate + $500.00 cash surcharge
  • Sunday (Pump Gas or Race Gas only tune): Normal Retune Rate (min. of 3 hours*) + $1000.00 Surcharge (entire appointment must be paid in cash)
  • Sunday (Pump and Race Gas tune): Normal Retune Rate (min. of 3 hours*) + $1000.00 Surcharge (entire appointment must be paid in cash)

Please note that all of our normal tuning policies will still apply and that even if you “run into problems” while you car is here you will still be required to pay the surcharge/flat rate (depends on the application) in addition to any other incurred costs, whether tuning or labor related.

*Even if the retune is only 1 hour long you will still be charged the 3 hour retune rate + the surcharge.

We’re certain that there are a lot of people who will read this and think that it is absolutely ridiculous, and clearly, this is not the way for those people to go. We do, however, have people who have taken advantage of this (which inspired this idea) and it worked out great for everyone involved. They didn’t have to wait two months for an appointment and Jeff was compensated nicely for the fact that he took time away from his family to be at the shop.

Retune Policies Updated.

We have been examining our business structure lately in an attempt to proactively fit more customer cars into our schedule that require retunes. Our goal is cut down on our lead time for new and returning customers by adding a second time-slot to the schedule on days where a retune is scheduled. Here is the new policy:

Retunes (on 1 type of fuel)
Evans Tuning has an 11AM – 2PM or 2PM – 5PM time-slot, on any available day. If you are the first to book that day, you will be scheduled in at the 11AM – 2PM slot. If the first slot is taken, the second slot will be available to ANY retune customer. These time-slots will be enforced strictly. If your car is a typical retune it should take no more than 3 hours of tuning time (we are providing what we feel is a buffer in case problems during tuning happen to arise). If you want to ensure you have a full day of tuning at Evans Tuning for your retune, you WILL be charged the full tuning rate (even if your appointment is less than 3 hours).

Pump & Race Gas Retunes
On days where a pump and race gas retune is required there will be only 1 available appointment starting at 12PM. These customers will have the entire day set aside for their tuning appointment and will pay the retune deposit for each fuel type. These days will be billed on the retune rate hourly charge.

4 Announcements, 1 Day.

As it turns out, we have 4 announcements coming this Friday. Some are bigger than others, some are huge, some are the announcements you have been waiting for, and some you may not even like. However, they are all set for Friday and are certainly going to be announced back to back throughout the day. It would probably be a good idea to check the website at the times posted on the banner below.

Support for NepTune Tuning System discontinued.

Some background.
Over the past year we have seen steady advances in the Hondata s300 system (see our “Why choose Hondata s300” post). These advances have brought the software out of the the contest between it and many others as the leading Honda Tuning software. Due to the wide acceptance of the Hondata s300 system, and the broad range of needs it fulfills we have decided it best to discontinue support for the NepTune and NepTune RTP tuning systems and focus solely on providing Hondata s300 as our “stock ECU” option for engine management. We will also continue tuning other systems for Honda’s such as AEM, PowerFC, etc (discounts will apply on tuning for these systems for customers upgrading from NepTune when system is also purchased through Evans Tuning).

What is changing?

  • Support for NepTune will be discontinued immediately. We are no longer providing tech support for the NepTune Tuning system.
  • We are no longer booking new appointments or retune appointments for NepTune.
