Quick Tuning Appointments and Policies Refresher
Mar 26th
Our 4-step tuning process has been in place for quite some time now on the site, and for the most part we feel that it has greatly helped our customers get everything they need to know up front in a nice clean format. We have some simple tuning policies and it’s probably a good idea in the busiest time of year to just put out a quick easy to read refresher.
Tuning Deposits – Click here for full deposit policy!
Our deposit policy has been in place since 7/21/2005 and has never changed. The deposit is critical, it assures us that you are coming for an appointment when you say you are. Moreover, it assures you that your car will be the only one we are focusing on when it’s time for it to be tuned. Its a relatively simple policy to understand so I would certainly take a few moments to read it before booking an appointment. We do not keep deposits on file for more than 6-months. If you happen to not reschedule your appointment with us in the 6-month window from your cancellation date (which must be at least 7-days before your appointment) you will unfortunately lose your credit on file with us.
Labor Rates – Click here for a full list of labor rates!
We can’t include labor charges in your tuning fees because they are separate services. When you come for a tuning appointment and something unfortunate occurs but we can fix it, we will do just that! But we have to charge for these things as they are over and above the call of duty during your tuning appointment. It used to be a $75 an hour charge, however we have since tried to break it down into specific labor charges to provide an easy list of charges as they apply to each labor service. Check them out (especially if you are not 100% sure everything is going to be perfect on the day of) because they are broken down rather well and easy to read.
Shop Policies – Click here for the full list of shop policies!
There are like 3 things on this list (at the moment), so if that is not enough reason to read it I don’t know what is. These policies are the first thing you read in the tuning section. They are that important to us. As a courtesy to us and to keep yourself safe during an appointment, following these policies is highly recommended.
Tuning Checklist(s) – Click here for the Pre-Tuning Checklist and Click here for the Post-Tuning Checklist.
These are BIG lists, but can hold potentially BIGGER savings before the time comes to tune your car or after you get home from an appointment. Writing these lists was probably the furthest thing from fun, but customer’s who read them rarely do so without laughing at least a few times. These lists are going to likely end up being added to and reformatted for easier reading in the near future. If Evans Tuning was a house of worship these would be our bibles, read them!
4-Step Tuning Process – Click here to get started!
This has got it all in one place. Everything listed above is contained in that 1 link. It takes you through the process of learning all the little details and policies for an appointment. Whether you have been coming to us for tuning since 2004 and are a veteran tuning customer, or are thinking that maybe sometime next year you will come for the first time, we recommend reading through this section.
Hopefully if you had questions about any of the above listed items, this post clears it up. Keep in mind that these policies are in effect and we do enforce them regardless of circumstance. We look forward to seeing you this season and hope everyone had a great winter!

Dyno Comparison: Skunk2 Pro 1 vs CTR Cams – 60whp gains!
Mar 9th
By now everyone has heard that aftermarket naturally aspirated cams make more power than OEM Honda cams in turbo applications. Evans Tuning sells and uses Skunk2 products on our customers and personal cars, so its only natural that we do testing on a product that we back and sell. The Skunk2 Tuner 1 and Pro 1 Series Camshafts are what we have found that works the best in forced induction applications. More >

Scheduling Updates! Get your car in sooner if we have a cancellation!
Mar 5th
Ever since I have started working at Evans Tuning I have been realizing that everything revolves around the schedule. Customer appointments, pickups, drop-offs, engine builds, and time off to relax, all get their respective place in the schedule weeks or in some cases months before they occur. Unfortunately, in our busy seasons the wait time can become extremely long (as I am writing this we are currently booked to the last week of April), which you can refer to Jeff’s post earlier this week for more on that.
