Why choose Hondata s300?
Jan 27th
Having been tuning cars for 9 years now (5 of those years professionally), I have tuned many different engine management systems and worked with a huge variety of cars from Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, VW, etc. The one thing that seems to make or break a set-up is the engine management system that you use. It has been common practice in the Honda community as a whole to get tuned with an engine management system that is the cheapest solution. While I can appreciate building a car on a budget and saving money, engine management is something that spending a little bit more can go a long way. Our cheapest solution for tuning a Honda is NepTune. While NepTune offers many of the features other engine management systems offer, it lacks on board datalogging, clear and well defined datalogs, and the ability for you as the end-user to make any changes. Although to most this seems trivial in comparison to the price difference between being tuned with NepTune (600.00) and Hondata S300 (1025.00 including system and installation into your virgin ecu), that difference is what will make or break your set-up. Here are scenarios I want you to consider:
New Polls Section Added!
Jan 26th
Hopefully you have been enjoying some of these posts as we have gotten Jeff to start writing, and he will be continuing to do so on a regular basis now. There are some awesome post drafts he has started writing up that should shed some light on some questions we hear asked quite often!
We’ve added a new poll section to our blog’s sidebar with the hope of gaining some valuable feedback from now on from our readers / site users. Its relatively painless as it will not even need to reload your page to vote so it should take all but 2 seconds to actually answer a poll. We appreciate all of your input and hope we can continue to serve everyone with awesome information and awesome products ahead of the rest of industry. Our first poll is a simple one:
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Skunk2 Stocking Order Huge Savings, Fast Shipping!!!
Jan 23rd
I get emails, pm’s and phone calls several times a week asking what cams and valvetrain we suggest. For the last few years Evans Tuning has been almost exclusively selling, using and testing with Skunk2 products. From all of the dyno testing that I have done the Skunk2 cams have made the best power, best idle and overall have been the best engineered. Our top selling Skunk2 camshaft has been the Tuner Series Stage 1 Camshafts. It has stock idle, stock drivability and makes an additional 20-30whp increase in power over ITR and CTR cams in turbo applications. The Pro Series Stage 1 Camshafts have been our second best selling camshaft. The Pro 1 cams are geared toward cars running GT35R sized turbos and larger. There is 300-500 rpms quicker spool and 50-150whp gains over ITR and CTR cams. The Pro 1 cams require cam gears in order to properly dial the correct centerlines on the cams for best power and idle quality. Our biggest issue with Skunk2 products is keeping them in stock! Every spring we get an influx of orders placed for Skunk2 cams, valvetrain, cam gears, intake manifolds, etc. Every spring we run out of stock very quickly, and Skunk2 gets backordered for weeks at a time! We have decided to double our stocking order with Skunk2 to gear up for the increase in spring sales. What this means for you as the customer is deeper discounts, no wait time and fast shipment to your door step. More >
Competition Clutch Huge Stocking Order, Huge Savings!!!
Jan 23rd
A few years ago I was seeing alot of cars coming into the shop with a relatively new clutch brand named Competition Clutch. I had seen some advertisements in magazines, and had seen them set-up at the NOPI race series but never really looked at them much past that. My personal grudge against the majority of the aftermarket clutch brands is using an excessive pressure plate on the clutch to hold the torque, which causes super high pedal pressure and typically a lot of clutch chatter when releasing the clutch pedal. There is nothing worse in stop and go traffic than a clutch pedal that feels like you are pushing against a wall of bricks. Despite leaving you with a well toned left leg, its extremely annoying especially compounded with a “on/off” engagement from the clutch. Race friendly, maybe. Daily driver friendly, no. To my surprise the first few cars using high torque rated Competition Clutches (stage 4 and 5) had surprisingly light pedal pressure and engagement despite being rated to hold 350-450 ft-lbs of torque. The stage 2 clutch which was rated at 275 ft-lbs of torque felt almost like stock in pedal pressure and engagement. I was shocked, and immediately wanted one in my own car! More >

Injector Dynamics 1000cc Saturated Injectors
Jan 19th
If you have not yet heard, the new Injector Dynamics 1000cc Saturated injectors are probably one of the best things to happen to the aftermarket scene in quite some time. I have tuned over 1000+ cars in the last 9 years being a professional EFI tuner. I have encountered many cars that have just ran poorly due to the specific fuel injectors that they were using, even after tuning. This can be attributed to poor atomization, inconsistency in fuel delivery between injectors and increased dead time using a saturated injector driver to drive a low impedance fuel injector. Most of issues attributed with poor fuel injectors are lean misfiring at idle (usually associated with a “popping” noise from the exhaust), rough partial throttle drivability at low throttle conditions (due to slow response time at low millisecond opening/closing) and hard starting.
Tial releases New V-Band MV-S 38mm wastegate!
Jan 15th
Tial Sport has recently released their new MV-S wastegate. Here is what Tial says about this awesome new product: TiAL will be replacing the F38 wastegate with the new MV-S wastegate. Small was on our mind when we developed this new ultra compact wastegate. It stands only 3.7″ in height vs the current F38 which is 4.85″ Other features include 3 bottom pressure ports for easy install and a top mount pressure port that can be rotated 6 different ways. No more bolts or gaskets and all configurations are leaded fuel safe. we also altered the way the diaphragm sits so it is virtually impossible to pinch.
Currently no turbo manifold manufactuer supports the new MV-S wastegate, but you will see everyone moving towards using them in the near future. The MV-S would hands down be the best choice for a divided manifold. Full-Race is currently redesigning their twin scroll manifolds to support these compact wastegates. Look out for the new bottom mount b-series twin scroll manifold to flanged for the Tial MV-S. These wastegates are great for custom fabrication projects. Evans Tuning will be stocking the new Tial MV-S gates, so wait time will be kept to a minimum! We expect these to move fast, so get your orders in today! You can find these new gates here on our online store. You can also place your order over the phone at 1.886.975.TUNE.
Below is a size comparison between the current Tial 38mm wastegate and the new Tial MV-S V-Band 38mm wastegate.

Evans Tuning now carrying Bullseye Power Turbos!
Jan 13th
The Bullseye Power turbos have been gaining alot of popularity in the last year on the sport compact scene. For those of you that have not heard of Bullseye Power they are an aftermarket turbo manufactuer that uses borg warner wheels, center sections and housings and creates their own turbos similar to what Precision Turbo does with Garrett. This aftermarket pairing of wheels gives customers more choices for their turbo projects. We have been getting alot of interest in Bullseye Power lately, so we have decided to become authorized dealers.
This means is that Evans Tuning customers will now have a broader selection of turbos based on t3 and t4 housings, and more power potential from a t3 frame turbo. To give everyone an idea how the Bullseye Power turbos correlate to the Garrett line-up, I have made a quick reference chart.
