Labor Rates page updated.

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Today I finally got around to fixing up the Labor Rates page. It is now a clean listing of the different services we offer at the shop on the day of your tuning appointment. Just another step closer to having the easiest website to navigate and get information from.

Please be aware that some of these services as stated in the notes section of the page cannot be performed on the day of your appointment unless we are notified ahead of time.

Hopefully this breakdown of our rates help answer some of the questions I have been getting at the office in regards to our costs. Let me know what you think!

Sales coming this holiday season.

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Its been a short while so here is our most recent update with what is going on here at Evans Tuning.

We have 2 big sales planned for this holiday season. The first one which I am going to discuss now is our first ever Black Friday Sale. Expect a one day sale, from midnight to midnight on Black Friday with some of the most smokin’ deals of the year. As there always is, there will be a special section in our store that will contain all of the specials for that day.

This sale will be a great time to buy gifts for the holidays, and a much easier way to shop on Black Friday all the while avoiding the ‘Shopping Mall Massacre of 2008′. We hope you find everything you are looking for this Black Friday at Evans-Tuning.com!

November appointments available

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Hey folks. Just wanted to make a quick post about appointments being available in the first few weeks of November still. Winter is approaching and it is a great time to get your car in for a tune or a retune if you have changed things around a bit. Our lead times for appointments are generally shorter during the Winter months.

Hopefully, everyone is enjoying these last few days of nice weather and have plans set for awesome builds for next year. I can’t wait to see what kind of new setups come through the shop after the weather starts to break. What are your plans for a new setup? Any 9 or even 8 second monsters being built out there?

Coverage from Englishtown Fall Nationals 2008 is up.

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Event coverage has been posted. The event was awesome! If you weren’t there it was a huge turnout with a ton of racers, and spectators filling the stands. We were glad we had the opportunity to come out and see it and it finally got Andrea out of the house since Jaden was born.

Hope you all enjoy the photos and the video of Tony1 runing an 8 second pass. Great job Tony!

s100, NepTune, and Comparison Reviews are up!

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Its Monday, and after an extremely busy day on the phone at the office and working on the site I have finally managed to get the s100 and NepTune reviews on our site. This is a continuation of the process of the reviews which are all hopefully going to be on the site in the next few weeks. You can find these reviews during step 3 of our etTuning section.

Here are some shorts from the over all impressions.

s100:

“The Hondata s100 is the cheapest option for tuning your car with the Hondata product line-up (B/D/H series engines). It is not end-user adjustable, and authorized Hondata dealers/tuners are the only…”

NepTune:

“Evans Tuning has been tuning NepTune longer than any other dealer/tuner. We have successfully tuned over 200+ cars with the software…”

Be sure to check out the Hondata, and NepTune pages for the newly added review section on the comparisons between s300 and NepTune. These are the first 2 comparisons with more coming in the future such as the difference between KPro and AEM for K-series setups. Give me your feedback!

Welcome Jaden Jeffrey Evans! 7lbs 11ounces

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

So after a long night, we’re welcoming Jaden Jeffrey Evans into the world. Born on October 3, 2008 he is 7 pounds 11 ounces and 21 inches long, and is a happy healthy baby boy. Heres a photo of our new family member, congratulations Andrea and Jeff!

KPro and AEM Reviews are up.

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Early on yesterday I posted up the new etTuning section and promised reviews would continue to come adding to the one that was already up for the Hondata s300 system. Since we have posted 2 more reviews which list Pro’s, Con’s, and our Overall Impression of the system.

The first being for Hondata KPro. A small excerpt:

“…It is hands down the best tuning solution for any K-series street car, as well as most race cars! The software is comprehensive, straight forward, and easy to use…”

The second being for AEM EMS. A small excerpt:

“…The system got a bad rap at first from having a lot “bugs” in the older versions of the software, but has done a complete 180-degree turn in quality and reliability. AEM EMS is Evans Tuning’s top pick for standalone engine management systems…”

I hope you get a chance to check out the new reviews and I hope they help in making your decision when thinking about which engine management system is right for you. Let me know your thoughts.

Contact Page and Policies Updated.

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Last night we completed the rollout of the new etTuning section of our site. If you haven’t checked it out its extremely easy to use and makes things much simpler. We have also recently been working on updating our policies for contacting Evans Tuning. This afternoon we loaded the new contact page with our new policies and information.

Our reason for the new page structure was based on a few things. Firstly, all of our appointment emails are now directed to a new email address setup especially for appointments. This will help expedite the process of setting up an appointment as that inbox will receive special attention.

The other main reason for the change is that we have found that many of our calls were calls related to technical questions. Unfortunately, Jeff is not here at the office to answer any of them and therefore it not only hangs up the phone here but I am sure our customers are frustrated when they are met with friendly customer service that is not intended to answer technical questions.

The main reason for the above described mix up is that generally people were skimming our contact page for our number and not reading the surrounding information.

So to work around this problem we decided it best to put the most important information in a place where it cannot be skipped over and instead must be read to get the proper contact information for the department of information you wish to speak to.

All of this is in our attempt once again to make the website the main resource of information for everything regarding tech, tuning, and any other questions. The easier the site is, the faster you can get answers and our goal is to make that process as simple as possible. Let me know what you guys think about the new contact page.

The New etTuning Section is live!

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Well, if you haven’t checked it out yet the new Tuning Section is now live. The revision serves multiple purposes which I will just quickly go over.

  1. The first goal is to help guide our customers through the process that we use to assume they were taking before contacting us for a tuning appointment. This takes out the guesswork by pointing directly the information that you need to know for an appointment.
  2. The second goal is to help you accurately and quickly gather information without having to wait for an email response or wait for a callback due to high call volume at the office.
  3. The third goal we accomplish with this revision is to help us prevent some of the huge volume of calls we receive everyday with questions about this content.
  4. The fourth goal is to provide reviews on the engine management systems we tune. An example of this can be found currently when looking at Hondata in Step 3 under s300. (This feature is still being implemented.)

If you haven’t gone through our simple 4-step process I suggest checking it out before your next tuning appointment as it contains quite a bit of priceless information that does not get discussed when setting up an appointment. Let me know what you think.
